San Diego streak of pleasant weather to come to an end
March 12, 2008
San Diego, California has only heard of the March madness of storms to hit the Midwest and the Northeast as they watch about it on the nightly news. For the majority of storm season, Southern California has enjoyed tame weather conditions and will continue to see those pleasant, sunny days for the rest of the week–until the weekend gets here.
According to forecasters, a noticeable cooling trend will move into the area returning the marine layer to the beaches and cooling the ocean by a few degrees. The latter part of the week will bring steadily dropping temperatures.
Storms circulating in the Aleutian Islands are slated to move into the area by Saturday or Sunday. Depending on the exact route of the front, the precipitation could vary from gusty winds to cold showers.
March has been uncharacteristically dry as the month tends to be one of the top three rainiest months.
