What is Google Sandbox and how to overcome it.

Many new SEO entrants frequently look for answers when it comes to the description and existence of GOOGLE sand box. Questions like what is a GOOGLE sand box? Does it exist and if it does what is its purpose? are frequently asked.

Though their websites continued to maintain their ranking in other popular search engine - YAHOO and MSN, GOOGLE search results did not bear fruit full results. The targeted keywords seemed to be useless for a certain time

But as time passed by, say around after 8 months maturity period these websites started to come up. Websites that passed through this filter successfully started to show improved ranking.

WHY TO SANDBOX STRATEGY

Such change in search engine results brought about 2 assumptions:

a) This move by GOOGLE might lead the webmasters to build quality websites in an effort to bring fast results. Instead of heavily optimized web pages containing poor quality content webmasters might shift their attention to better informative, useful optimized websites
b) GOOGLE might have incorporated this change to promote GOOGLE AdSense program. In an effort to project the new websites on 1st pages of search results for the targeted keyword, webmasters would participate in sponsored listing.

Such is also evident from the sky rocketing profits of GOOGLE from their GOOGLE AdSense program.

Age of your website matters most now! If you have a website that is approximately 8 months old chances are that search engine results would now be improving and your web site would be found. In case where even after 8 months your website does not show up, chances are that your website would be subjected to penalties in spite of the fact that you would have quality back links on it.

Advantages of such strategy

Theory of sandbox resulted in bringing around lots of good websites with quality content. Viewers can surely get to find what they are looking for when they type the keywords.

Though for webmasters it’s a long wait of eight months before their efforts would be rewarded.
Shortening the time in Sand Box - Is it possible

No way! 6 to 8 months are required for getting out of this virtual hurdle. If you adopt ethical strategy, you can come out of the Google sandbox in few days.

As per some webmasters “getting one way” i.e. inbound quality links might get you out of sandbox fast other are of the opinion that getting links from .gov and .edu website will help in such process.

What you can do is; make best use of these months. Instead of sitting idol and waiting for miracles to happen just start optimizing by adding SEOed content to your website, create ways of getting inbound links. Make sure that you don’t over optimize - this might create reverse action.

One more things, YAHOO and MSN have their own presence and usages. Their importance as quality search engines cannot be undermined. So optimize your web pages for YAHOO and MSN as well as these search engines do not have such delays.
