At&T Announces Mobile TV
After, Verizon releasing VCAST mobile, a mobile TV and music service, over a year ago, At&T finally announced that their version called, At&T Mobile TV will be released in May.
The mobile television service will be powered by Qualcomm’s MediaFlo technology, which is the same company that powers VCAST mobile. While Verizon has offered their service on about four of their handset devices, At&T will be releasing it on two devices(The LG VU and the Samsung Access).
The channels included in their mobile TV lineup include, CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, MTV, Nickelodeon mobile. Some say that this new mobile TV service has been started to compete with Verizon, which is famously known for their media packages, or even because of the immense success of the iPhone’s built in iTunes.
