Condé Nast Traveler list of best spas highlights Dallas
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) — The old adage is that everything is bigger in Texas. Big hair, big hats and big pampering is how Texas locals deal with the warm, humid climate. In a recent Condé Nast Traveler, several Texas spas were listed as the best of the best with Dallas being home to two.
The chosen group was identified as the best spas in North America and the Caribbean for 2008. The survey was sent to over 4,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers who “rated 1,000 spas they visited in the last three years.” Ultimately, fifty-four spas were given top honors. The criteria for hotel spas were judged on location, ambiance, treatments received, service of the staff and workout facilities. Criteria for destination and resort spas were rated on the same list as the hotel spas, as well as the spa rooms, cuisine.
In keeping with tradition that everything is bigger (and now even better) in Texas, following is the list of the Lone Star State 2008 Condé Nast Traveler Best Spas of North America and the Caribbean as reported by the Dallas Morning News:
Best destination spa: Lake Austin Spa Resort, Austin
Best hotel spa: Rosewood Crescent Hotel, Dallas
Best resort spas: Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas; Barton Creek Resort & Spa, Austin
