Jackson, Mississippi (WiredPRNews.com) — On Thursday morning, Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to a baby girl in south Mississippi.

Jamie Lynn Spears is the younger sister of Britney Spears and featured as a star of “Zoey 101”, a popular sitcom on Nickelodeon where the story revolves around school friends from prep. The family of Jamie Lynn Spears announced the pregnancy last December. The father of the new baby is Casey Aldridge who hails from Liberty, Mississippi and works as a pipe layer. Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge are not married however they were engaged months ago.

Jamie Lynn Spears lives in Liberty with Casey Aldridge, 19 and has been residing at South Mississippi. The family of Jamie Lynn Spears has a home in Kentwood, Louisiana. It was Jamie Lynn Spears who made the news of her pregnancy formal in an article with OK! Magazine and is expecting to receive money for exclusive coverage for her new born girl.

On Thursday, Nickelodeon issued a formal statement on the birth of Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter as “We wish her and her family well.” According to Marianne Romano, the spokeswoman for Nickelodeon said that the shooting for final season for “Zoey 101” was completed before Jamie Lynn Spears became pregnant.
