After Google Universe - G Creates Lively
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) — With Google already in the limelight because of its varied products and search engine services, its time again to welcome its altogether new feature, called Lively.
Google Inc. has launched a virtual world, Lively, which lets the users to make virtual depiction of themselves, and then can use various features to decorate their space. Users can invite friends to their rooms and can perform various activities. There is no need of downloading any software for using Lively. One can plug-in for their Web browser, enter via their own blogs or even through websites such as Facebook. Features like YouTube videos and Picasa pictures can be uploaded on the space provided.
The industry of virtual world space has been growing for quite sometime now. According to the data provided by trade group Virtual Worlds Management, it says that around $1 billion has been invested from October 2006 to October 2007.
Chris Sherman, the trade group’s executive director said, “With a player like Google jumping into this, you’re going to see a lot more people understand this space and pay attention to it”.
What makes Google’s Lively different from other virtual worlds already running on the web market is the fact that it is absolutely free of cost. Moreover, an Internet powerhouse distributes it. The aim of Google behind the making of Lively has been to make it “a part of the users’ everyday experience”.
