Lane office unveils earth-friendly showroom using DIRTT Walls

New York City, New York (WiredPRNews.com) — The Lane office just unveiled their new attractive and environmentally sustainable showroom. Using the DIRTT Walls they manufacture, Lane was able to create a space that demonstrates functionality, aesthetics and flexibility. “DIRTT Walls are prefabricated in a manufacturing setting and then installed, rather than constructed from scratch on-site,” explains Lane President, Gregory Burke. “The reason this is a green solution is because it emphasizes the two most important R’s in environmentalism – Reduce and Reuse.”

DIRTT Walls reduce material waste during initial installation and in the future when reconfigurations are required in the Lane space. They can reuse the walls by dismantling them, tilting them down and re-installing them in a new location, even a new building, without sending debris to the landfill or buying new building materials to build new walls. For every square foot of fixed drywall which has been newly constructed, one pound of waste material goes to the disposal as the space is built out. Later, those numbers go up exponentially when it is torn down, thrown out and built all over again. DIRTT Walls help to stop this process of building disposable buildings.

DITT’s new frameless glass doors will soon be on display in New York. These come in two versions: Pivot and Sliding Barn Door. They are also reusable in any configuration. The Sliding Barn Doors are excellent space savers, which reduce the real estate footprint required for a functioning and flexible space.

The DIRTT Solid Walls house their electrical needs in the Lane offices, allowing them to access the power fixtures for any changes needed without tearing holes in the walls. The design of the new Lane offices and the use of DIRTT’s Glass Walls mean more daylight can flood into the interiors of the offices, which is proven to give employees a better sense of well-being and comfort.
