Patrick Dempsey joins with Avon Products to launch a fragrance line

Hartford, Connecticut (WiredPRNews.com) — Avon Products Inc. has announced the introduction of Patrick Dempsey Unscripted, a signature fragrance for men which the company created with Patrick Dempsey, an award-winning actor. The inauguration of the product was held at a cocktail party arranged by Andrea Jung, the CEO and Chairman of Avon, at The Skyloft Penthouse in Tribeca. The line will be launched in the U.S. in November 2008 and around the world in 2009.

Dempsey has played a significant role for the advancement of the product and has been involved intimately with the name, package, concept and olfactive notes. The Global President of Avon Strategic Alliances, Claudia Poccia, says that Dempsey is a talented, successful and respected actor of this generation and that the company is extremely excited about offering consumers throughout the world a sight into the life of the actor through this product. Patrick Dempsey Unscripted embodies the actor’s philosophy to follow one’s own passions and to develop one’s own story of life.

Dempsey said that collaborating with the company in creating the line has been an exciting journey from beginning to end. Developed by International Flavors & Fragrances, it is a scent which is an expression of freedom of open roads with fresh and aromatic cardamom, invigorating black cracked peppercorn. It is a sensual mixture of crisp lavender and fig, which enriches the experiences with its sophisticated and warm texture. The scent is available in simple but iconic bottles and the outer packing contains classic sharp lines which are both masculine and modern. The carton has unique colors that convey the actor’s overall vision that is unexpected and original.

The range of fragrances will be featured in the brochure of the company that is distributed to more than 5 million people around the world and print advertising will support it. Patrick Dempsey has been the recent partner of the portfolio for premier fragrances of the company. Other partners of Avon include Bond Girl 007, U by Ungaro, Cynthia Rowley, Jennifer Hudson for Imari, Christian Lacroix Parfums and Derek Jeter.
