Helena, Montana (WiredPRNews.com) — Recent studies have shown that plant-based fats are strong fighters of deadly diseases like cancer. Saturated fats from plant sources have been shown to offer extraordinary benefits to overall health. Including plant-based fats in your daily diet can be extremely helpful in preventing prostate cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer.

Canola oil is one of the neutral fats which means that it is not necessarily a bad fat but it is not the healthiest either. The healthy fats include flax seed oil, extra virgin olive oil and fats obtained from other plant sources like nuts, avocados, coconuts and seeds. These are healthy fats that should be included in everyday meals. Vitamin D and E and beta carotene require fats to be effectively absorbed and utilized by the body. Fats are also necessary for the metabolism of various other nutrients. Incidentally, the oils not only fight cancer but also improve cardiovascular health and fights obesity and weight gain.

Cancer: The study shows that dietary fats are necessary for the absorption of nutrients from vegetables and fruits. It revealed that people who consume salad with no fats absorb less vitamins and phytonutrients from lettuce, spinach, carrots and tomatoes than people who consume salads containing fats. Scientists have always known that fats are a necessary part of a healthy diet but it is necessary to choose the right kind of fats in the right amount. Excessive amount of fats in our body due to their high caloric density may increase calories which may cause chronic diseases.

It is a fact that the human body requires fat as it helps in absorbing nutrients, transmitting nerves, maintaining the integrity of cell membranes and others bodily functions. When consumed in excess however, fats may also contribute to heart diseases, weight gain and some types of cancer. Some fats may promote health in a positive way while others may increase the risk of heart-related diseases.
