Cincinnati, Ohio (WiredPRNews.com) — Most certainly, fitness is not only for the young and if you happen to press the elderly about what they have being doing in regard of their own fitness, it would usually come out to be nothing more than strolling in the garden, taking the dog for a walk, playing cards or telling you about their various health problems which does not allow them to adopt a fitness regime. These ailments can include heart problems, bad knee or hip, asthma, emphysema, hernia, cuff problem and other such ailments.
This is enough to prove that the elderly find it difficult to go walking regularly, jog, or play tennis due to their worn out joints. Most of them have decided that exercising is only meant for the young and that the last years of their life are meant for rest and not for fitness.
A report has come out in the American Medical Association Journal that even young people and teenagers are quitting fitness and invariably getting out of shape. A study of moderate-to-Vigorous physical activity for those aged nine to fifteen years measured physical fitness activities and how they significantly decreased from the everyday routine of this age group. This comes as a shocking reminder that the grandkids of seniors are also out of shape.
It is time that senior citizens should set examples for their grandchildren and surprise them all with their fitness regimes and exercise, helping themselves come out of their health problems as well as helping others in their extended families.
