A woman in the town of Paris, Texas has recently come forward with accusations of foul play within the Paris Police Department due to the alleged excessive sentencing of her husband and other individuals within the community. Elizabeth Goodman has publicly stated her belief that the department retaliated against her husband, Lesily Goodman, for filing a lawsuit against the department for an alleged assault by Paris Police officer, Mike Ford. Goodman received a settlement in the sum of $30,000 in 2007, and was subsequently charged and found guilty of a DWI 3rd offense in connection with the assault incident, and sentenced to 30 years imprisonment. The Paris Police Department cleared Officer Ford of any wrongdoing.
