The lawyer, who founded the Baron & Budd law firm, is also stated to be in a fight with the maker of the drug Tysabri, who Bacon’s son has stated denied his father use of the drug that research has shown could help his condition.
The drug manufacturer Biogen confirmed their refusal to allow the attorney use of the drug due to possible future restrictions a negative response could place on patients who would likely benefit from its use. The company’s refusal has stood firm amidst pleas from notable public figures including Bill Clinton, Lance Armstrong, who survived cancer, and the head of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach.
Fred Baron is highly regarded for his work with ailing individuals caught in legal battles with large companies for their conditions.
