Man Deemed the ‘World’s Heaviest’ Says I Do
WiredPRNews.com — Manuel Uribe, the man determined by the Guinness World Record to be the heaviest man in the world, married his girlfriend, Claudia Solis, on Sunday. The couple said I do in Mexico in front of approximately 400 guests, as reported by the Associated Press.
Uribe has been bed ridden for almost six years, and married his bride bedside in a private ceremony. The newlywed earned the Guinness title in 2006 after weighing in at over 1,200 pounds. He is now an estimated 550 pounds lighter as a result of dieting, and remains on a strict diet in an effort to reach a healthier weight.
Uribe is reportedly participating in a documentary for the Discovery Channel, which will showcase the wedding when aired. In regards to his future, Uribe remarked to the press as they surrounded him in Mexico, “I have a wife and will form a new family and live a happy life.”
