The largest newspaper in Alaska, The Anchorage Daily News, has given Senator Barack Obama, the democratic presidential candidate, their official endorsement. As reported by The Associated Press, the paper has identified the republican vice president choice, Sarah Palin, as too risky, despite crediting her with a successful run as governor.
The Alaskan news source is also quoted as stating democratic hopeful Obama has more promise and presents thoughtful responses that are more fitting for dealing with the current economic crisis.
Republican candidate, Senator John McCain, was described by The Anchorage Daily News as being far less prepared for presenting a viable solution for dealing with the economic situation that has been described by many as the worst since the Great Depression decades earlier. As quoted by the Anchorage paper, “Gov. Palin’s nomination clearly alters the landscape for Alaskans…but it does not overwhelm all other judgment…our sober view is that her running mate, Sen. John McCain, is the wrong choice for president at this critical time for our nation.”
