WiredPRNews.com — Federal agents have intervened and prevented the planned assassination of democratic presidential hopeful, Senator Barack Obama by two neo-Nazi s, as reported by The Associated Press.
The two individuals, Daniel Cowart of Tennessee and Paul Schlesselman of Arkansas, have been arrested in connection to their plan to kill the senator as well as 88 other African Americans.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms, and es released a statement on Monday that the men intended to rob a gun store and carry out the mass , which were to begin at a high school in Tennessee. Eighty-eight were to be killed and 14 beheaded, in accordance with numeric symbolic representations within the community of white supremacists.
Cowart, 20, and 18 year-old Schlesselman had five firearms on them at the time of their arrest. The two were later reported as stating the attempt of Obama would be their final act, and they would risk dying to carry out the full extent of their plan. So far Cowart and Schlesselman have been charged with the possession of an unregistered firearm, conspiracy to steal firearms, and threatening a presidential candidate. An investigation into their case continues, and may lead to further charges.
