Wired PR News.com — A court decided to extend the conservatorship of Britney Spears’ father on Tuesday, as stated in reports by the Associated Press. The arrangement was originally set to expire at the end of the year; however, the judge has granted an extension that will exceed the expiration date indefinitely. Spears’ father, Jaime Spears, will continue to oversee the pop star’s finances and personal affairs. Spears has reportedly agreed to the arrangement.
The decision of Court Commissioner Reva Goetz was made after evaluations of Spears and the recommendations of attorneys.
The conservatorship has reportedly been a possible benefit for the singer in recent legal cases. In her misdemeanor trial this month for driving without a license, Spears was not required to testify. She also was protected from having to provide a deposition in a case brought against her by a former manager.
Spears has been a media fixture since the beginning of her career. The singer is expected to release her new album on December 2nd of this year, which will mark her 27th birthday.
