Wired PR News – The current election has the eyes of the world looking in on America, and like citizens of the United States, excitedly awaiting the final outcome. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), many are looking to the potential win for Senator Barack Obama as a possible end to the global perception of America as an arrogant country. The report has also stated that even in the event of a McCain-Palin ticket win, there would be a sigh of relief for the end of the current administration’s reign.
In Paris, France thousands of individuals are slated to hold election parties Tuesday night to celebrate current president, George Bush, leaving office. In other countries such as Germany, more than 200,000 people showed up to hear Senator Obama speak during a trip to the region earlier this year. The numbers are said to represent the worldwide impact of the U.S. President’s administration and the importance placed on foreign relations.
As quoted in the AP article, the Director of the German Council on Foreign Relations, Alexander Rahr stated “America is electing a new president, but for the Germans, for Europeans, it is electing the next world leader.”
