Wired PR News.com – Barack Obama, America’s President Elect, is reportedly planning to use executive orders to undo issues that have been linked to the policies of the Bush Administration. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), a statement was made by transition chief, John Podesta, that Obama might change Republican based policies pertaining to stem cell research and other major issues immediately upon taking office, and is currently in the process of reviewing the executive orders of the past eight years. As quoted of Podesta by the AP, “there’s a lot that the president can do using his executive authority without waiting for congressional action, and I think we’ll see the president do that.”
The focus on the need for immediate action stems from the call for support of taxpayers and others negatively affected by the current economic and financial crises, who have been pressing for relief ASAP. Even with strong congressional support, the process of providing noticeable relief without the use of executive powers may take several months minimum.
