Wired PR News.com – A new kind of video game was unveiled by Electronic Arts Inc. on Thursday that put a twist on personal training, as reported by Reuters. Inspired by the draw of game systems that cater to the health conscious needs of present consumers, the company debuted “EA Sports Active,” which will be in stores March of 2009. The game has been created exclusively for play on the Nintendo Wii console.
Marketing of the new game is geared towards women who may find it to be a viable alternative to expensive gym memberships or personal trainers. Users can interact with the computer-based trainer for direction on effective exercises.
EA is more widely recognized for sports based games such as “Madden NFL.” The company has proposed that offering more diverse game types such as those that suit customers seeking games with a lifestyle focus, is beneficial for business growth.
