Electricity Rates Chosen for Next 24 Years: in Accordance with Some North Texas City Agreements
Wired PR News.com – Planners for city budgets in and around the Dallas area have recently been provided with an opportunity to stabilize some of their costs by agreeing to contracts that would set their rate for energy services to a particular amount for the next 24 years. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, many North Texas cities agreed to the conditions, however, some remain skeptical on the value of their participation.
Arlington Mayor, Robert Church was quoted as justifying the city’s agreement with the contract stating “It’s the safety of knowing our rates will be locked in for a long period of time” at a rate that is more reasonable than what cities believe they could expect in the future.”
Cities such as Arlington, Addision, The colony, and Grand Prairie are expecting to see overall budget savings of millions of dollars as a result of their decisions.
