Rosie O’Donnell Variety Show Lacks in Ratings

Wired PR News.com – After a very public breakup from top ranked morning chat show, The View, entertainer Rosie O’Donnell remained out of the spotlight for some time. However, the comedian and former ‘View’ co-host made a recent return to television with her own variety show stated to resemble the style of the legendary Carol Burnet Show. As reported by E! Online, the show, which premiered Friday, has lagged behind in the Nielson ratings and received dismal reviews. O’Donnell recently proclaimed on her website that “there will be no more” signaling the show being dropped from its 8:00 p.m. Friday slot on NBC.
‘Rosie Live’ did manage to score 5 million viewers with appearances from superstars like Alanis Morissette, Ne-Yo, and 30-Rock’s Alec Baldwin, however the numbers were not enough to keep its primetime position on air. As stated in the E! report, the Hollywood Reporter’s review of the show stated “There’s nothing like a good holiday variety show and this was nothing like one.”
