Famed 1950s Pinup Suffers Heart Attack

Wired PR News.com – Widely popular 1950s pinup Bettie Page has been hospitalized due to a heart attack, and is reportedly in intensive care. According to the Associated Press, the 85 year-old was stated by Todd Mueller, a family friend, to be in a coma, but there was no confirmation as to whether that was her current condition.
Bettie Page is renowned for her role in the sexual revolution of the 1960s. Portrayed in posters and magazines distributed throughout the country, the pinup star was a favorite centerfold of many who posted her pictures on their walls. Page was also featured in Playboy magazine’s January 1955 issue.
As stated in the Associated Press report, Page subsequently suffered from mental illness and was out of the public spotlight for many years. In the 1990s, she allowed reporters to interview her, but no longer allowed anyone to take her picture.
