Wired PR News.com – Many have wondered about the fate of popular NBC political show “Meet the Press” after the passing of long time host Tim Russert. Russert died of a sudden heart attack in June of this year, after serving as moderator of the program for 16 years.
As reported by E! Online, David Gregory, a NBC news veteran, has been named the new moderator for the show, a post veteran news commentator Tom Brokaw temporarily held for the past six months. Brokaw made the announcement last Sunday after his interview with President Elect Barack Obama.
Gregory will begin his “Meet the Press” duties on Sunday. He is also expected to continue with his role as a MSNBC and NBC News analyst as well contributor of the “Today” show. As quoted of the 38 year-old correspondent, “I’m not Tim. But along with this great team, I can just work real hard to make him proud.”
