Obama introduces energy and environmental team Monday, including Nobel Prize winning physicist Steven Chu.
Wired PR News.com – President Elect Barack Obama has now appointed his team for dealing with issues related to energy and the environment including global warming and finding alternative energy sources. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama made the announcement of his environmental and energy team on Monday stating “We can spark the dynamism of our economy through a long-term investment in renewable energy that will give life to new businesses and industries with good jobs that pay well and can’t be outsourced.”
Among those chosen include Steven Chu for energy secretary, Carol Browner for White House council on energy and climate leader, Lisa Jackson for EPA administrator, and Nancy Sutley for White House Council on Environment Quality chair.
Obama also spoke at the Chicago news conference about the goals for his administration to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil and provide environmental protection while progressing economic development, affirming a vow to “move beyond our oil addiction and create a new hybrid economy.”
