Volunteers showed up by the hundreds to give Keller, TX family home an “Extreme Makeover.”

Wired PR News.com – Monday afternoon was the time of the big reveal to a Keller, Texas family who had won home renovations from the hit ABC television program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” As reported by the Star-Telegram, Amber and Peter Augustin were able to see their new home, which hundreds of their volunteers from their Tarrant County community had shown up to help build, around 4:00 p.m.

Information about the inside home design is being keep secret until the airing of the Augustin family’s episode in February or March. However, as noted in the Star-Telegram report, the new home was built by Wall Homes based in Arlington, and expanded to be twice the size of the Augustin’s previous home. Also, Stacy Furniture in Grapevine was said to provide some of the home’s furnishings.

The Augustin’s are regarded as heroes in their community, providing support to groups such as Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, which supports grieving parents of infants who’ve passed away. Their own home flooded last year, and they needed help to repair it to meet current building code standards. The entry of the family was chosen out of thousands that the show receives every week.
