NY Man Admits to Baby Food Poison Hoax in Court
A man in New York City has admitted his guilt in court to taking part in a hoax, releasing Internet videos saying he poisoned baby food.
Wired PR News.com — A New York man told courts that he was guilty of conning people into believing he had poisoned baby food through the release of Internet videos. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Anton Dunn pled guilty to the charge of transmitting threats in interstate commerce, for which he could serve a maximum of five years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled to take place March 20, 2009.
Baby food manufacturer Gerber Products Co., reportedly received inquiries about the allegations of contamination from consumers questioning whether they were true. No evidence has been found to show that any of the products had been tampered with. Dunn purportedly made claims that he put rat poison and cyanide in millions of baby food products. He posted videos making the claims on YouTube.
