Doctor and Patient Become Partners in Medicine
A former cancer patient gets the opportunity to work alongside the doctor who helped save his life.
Wired PR News.com – In a rare twist of fate, a former cancer patient has now become colleague to the doctor who helped save his life years ago. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), 28 year-old doctor, Trevor Banka now works with the physician who removed a cancerous bone from his knee when he was twelve years old. Dr. Michael Mott, remained Banka’s physician through medical school.
Banka is quoted in the AP report as commenting, “I wanted to work next to Dr. Mott and I wanted to train with him… We have a very special relationship.” Banka, a second year oncology resident, further stated of the doctor, “He has great technique. It’s fun being on the other side of the stethoscope, being his patient and being his colleague.”
The two work together at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
