Dallas officials push for law school in the largest U.S. metroplex yet to have one.
Wired PR News.com – Dallas lawmakers are again pleading their case for why North Texas should be granted a public law school. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, local leaders are pressing for the area, which is currently the largest metropolitan area in the country without one, to make a public law school a priority.
Lee Jackson of the University of North Texas is quoted in the Dallas Morning News report as stating, “You can’t ever guarantee the outcome of a legislative process… That said, we have not found anyone who is opposed to the project or predicts it won’t pass.”
If lawmakers do vote to bring a public law school to the Dallas area, some speculate that enrollment could begin as early as 2010.
