Pit Bull Fatally Wounded After Shooting, Neighbors Fear for Their Animals’ Safety

Police are reportedly investigating the shooting death of a pit bull, as neighbors grow increasingly concerned about the protection of their animals.

Wired PR News.com – A man in McKinney, Texas has been accused of shooting the dog of a neighbor early this week, and the occurrence has left other neighbors on edge regarding the safety of their own pets. As reported by the McKinney Courier Gazette, the man is said to be Dallas police officer Jason Chapman, who fired at a three year-old pit bull, and afterward yelled at neighbors whom he accused of letting the dog out. As noted by the Gazette a statement issued by McKinney police has said that Chapman has not been charged in the shooting; however, the police departments in Dallas and McKinney are investigating the occurrence.

Kevyn Allen who along with her husband Eric owned the dog, was noted in the report to state she plans to file charges for the shooting. Allen is quoted as commenting, “Why did he have to shoot my dog? Our whole family is beside itself. There was no reason to shoot Camryn. Was it because she was a pit bull? She was the nicest dog. She was great with kids and everyone. Our neighbors even said she was happy and wagging her tail when the man coaxed her over.”
