Chicken Dinner Lawsuit Tossed Out by Judge
A lawsuit over a prison chicken dinner has been dismissed by a Vermont judge.
Wired PR News.com – A man who recently filed a lawsuit over a prison chicken dinner recently had his suit thrown out by a federal judge. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), a Vermont judge ruled that Christopher Butts, who brought a lawsuit against ConAgra Foods Inc. after eating a chicken meal in prison he alleged made him ill, did not prove that there was a defect in the product.
In his lawsuit, Butts claimed that the meat still had animal pus and digestive tract components in it. The prisoner said that he ate the microwaved meat after purchasing it from a prison store while incarcerated in Kentucky.
As noted by the AP, Butts, who was transferred to the Kentucky prison to due inmate overcrowding issues in Vermont, now says he is unable to eat chicken after the incident.
