Yahoo is expected to name Carol Bartz as new CEO.
Wired PR News.com – It’s been approximately two months since Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang, announced his intentions to step down as Chief Executive when the company found a replacement. As reported by the Reuters, Yahoo is expected to name former CEO of Autodesk Inc. as Yang’s successor.
As noted in the Reuters report, Yahoo had yet to confirm the decision at the time of the report, however the information was released Tuesday in a Wall Street Journal report.
Todd Greenwald, a Signal Hill analyst, is quoted by Reuters as stating in regards to Bartz as a choice for Yahoo CEO, “I think the market may be a little bit disappointed that Yahoo’s not going with someone who isn’t a little bit more savvy when it comes to technology and media.” Shares in Yahoo stock fell 2 by percent following the announcement. However, many assert that Bartz would be effective in helping Yahoo become more stabilized, after months of financial trouble.
