Oscars said to be full of surprises this year

A number of surprises are said to be in store for this year’s Oscar nominees.

Wired PR News.com – Show managers for this year’s Academy Awards stated Monday that numerous surprises are in store for the televised ceremony this year. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the grand gathering of Hollywood’s elite will have new features as told to attendees of an annual luncheon held for nominees. Sid Ganis, Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences president, is quoted as proclaiming, “Your categories are being presented in a completely different way. Heads up… Cinematographers, editors, composers. All of you guys. You’re in for a big surprise.”
However, as noted by the AP, Ganis remained secretive about the specific details of the ceremony.

This year’s list of nominees includes Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Robert Downey Jr., and Mickey Rourke, who made a triumphant return to the screen. Rourke is quoted as stating of his comeback, “I was out of work for about 14 years… so many years went by and I got a second chance.”

The Academy Awards will be held February 22.
