A Dallas mother is arrested months after her daughter dies of diabetes related complications.
Wired PR News.com – A mother in Dallas stands accused of neglecting her daughter after the nine year old girl died from diabetes related complications. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Georgia Lee Jones was arrested Monday on charges related to accusations that she contributed to the death of her daughter by failing to properly manage the child’s diabetes.
Chasity Butler passed away last May, which set off a lengthy investigation into how her mother had managed her condition. Police records are quoted in the Dallas Morning News as stating, “Chasity’s diabetes was not monitored properly causing her to be constantly sick and in bed rather than leading a normal life like other children her age.”
Jones’ husband Marqus Butler is quoted as stating in her defense, “It’s not right – I feel like we went through enough…She’s in jail right now. She lost her daughter. CPS just came in and took my children away. It’s like, when does it stop.”
Jones, who has four other children, was released on bail Tuesday. Her children now live with the paternal grandmother.
