President Obama has stated that after the report on the overwhelming number of job losses delaying the passing of a stimulus bill is not excusable.
Wired PR News.com – President Barack Obama is again calling for swift action for passing the stimulus plan. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama stated on Friday that delay of the bill, which is now being considered by Congress, is “inexcusable and irresponsible.”
The President is quoted as stating of the high unemployment numbers, “These numbers demand action. It is inexcusable and irresponsible for any of us to get bogged down in distraction, delay or politics as usual while millions of Americans are being put out of work…Now is the time for Congress to act.”
Obama further warned of the implications not passing the measure could have, being quoted in the report as stating, “These Americans are counting on us, all of us in Washington. We have to remember that we’re here to work for them. If we drag our feet and fail to act, this crisis will turn into a catastrophe. We’ll continue to get devastating job reports like today’s month after month, year after year.”
