Kmart has decided to recall some of their bakery products that may be tainted with salmonella.
Wired PR News.com – As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Sears Holdings Corp. has decided to recall some of the bakery products from its Super Kmart stores due to possible contamination. The company stated that some of the goods sold in the bakery department at the stores may have been contaminated by salmonella while being made.
The list of recalled products as noted by the AP, include a peanut butter cake, caramel apple cake, and various types of donuts. The recall is voluntary despite Kmart having reportedly stated that they are unaware of any incidents of illness occurring as a result of consuming these items.
So far at least 575 individuals have reportedly become ill in 43 states due to a salmonella outbreak attributed to the Peanut Butter Corp. of America. A few deaths have been reported as well.
