NY Plane Crash- 49 Reported Dead
A plane crashed into a home in New York, reportedly leaving 49 individuals dead.
WiredPRNews.com – A plane crash occurred in New York Thursday that has reportedly left all passengers dead as well as one individual on the ground. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the crash occurred after a commuter plane hit a home in Buffalo, New York and burst into flames. The accident is said to have happened around 10:20 p.m. Thursday night.
As noted by the AP, the plane was traveling from New Jersey based Newark Liberty International Airport to Buffalo Niagara International Airport in inclement weather conditions. Continental Airlines is quoted as releasing the statement after the accident “At this time, the full resources of Colgan Air’s accident response team are being mobilized and will be devoted to cooperating with all authorities responding to the accident and to contacting family members and providing assistance to them.”
Several homes near the site of the crash were evacuated. As mentioned in the report, a phone number has been made available for those who may have inquiries or information to send regarding friends or family on board Flight 3407: 1-800-621-3263.
