Car Czar Idea Replaced with Task Force
Obama has changed his mind about naming a czar to oversee the auto industry, and decided to form a task force instead.
Wired PR News.com – President Obama’s car czar idea has been replaced with plans to form a government task force. As reported by Reuters, Obama’s new strategy will no longer involve the designation of a single power to oversee the auto industry’s makeover, and instead will include an oversight panel.
As noted in the Reuters report, it has yet to be stated when the plans will be released, however, auto giants Chrysler and General Motors must submit plans by Tuesday to show their sustainability. An official with the administration is quoted as stating, “We will continue to engage with them on a daily basis, as we have been over the course of the last two months, to work through various issues… Once received, we will analyze the reports and over the course of the next week or two will meet with the companies to work through them.”
