A rare case of a sleepwalking emailer gets examined in Sleep Medicine.
WiredPRNews.com – A woman whose sleepwalking case was profiled in the Sleep Medicine medical journal reportedly sent out party invitations via email while she was asleep. As reported by Fortean Times, the 44-year-old woman composed three emails to friends, inviting them over for caviar and drinks, having successfully turned on her computer and started her Internet connection, all while sleeping through the events.
As noted in the report, the woman realized what she had done after receiving a phone call of someone accepting the invitation. The event is classified as an example of a new form of somnambulism sprouting up in the technology driven age of information. The woman’s particular episode is speculated to have possibly been triggered by her having taken a prescribed medication.
