Woman Found Contaminating Baby Food
A woman is discovered tampering with baby food in a grocery store.
WiredPRNews.com – A woman was caught in the act of injecting a foreign substance into baby food in a supermarket. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Shirley Ybarra, 50, was found in a Publix supermarket early this week adding a foul-smelling substance to baby food and juice containers. Store employees stated the smell of the liquid was similar to that of ammonia.
As further mentioned in the AP report, the woman told store employees that the food was for her son, however, he is 21 years old.
Ybarra was subsequently taken to jail in Broward County and given a mental health evaluation. She has been charged with poisoning as well as a probation violation. As the report states, she is shown by police records to currently be in jail without bond.
No public threat has arisen as a result of the incident.
