The company decides to test its new search service internally.
WiredPRNews.com – Microsoft Corp is performing an internal test of a new search service. As reported by Reuters, the company is testing a new version of its service using the name Kumo.com.
Satya Nadella, head of research for Microsoft’s online services division, is quoted in the report as stating in a memo released Monday “Kumo.com exists only inside the corporate network, and in order to get enough feedback we will be redirecting internal live.com traffic over to the test site in the coming days… Kumo is the codename we have chosen for the internal test.”
Nadella is further quoted as stating in the memo initially released publicly on the Wall Street Journal’s All Things Digital blog, “We believe we can provide a better and more useful search experience that helps you not just search but accomplish tasks.”
