As the new host of “Late Night,” Jimmy Fallon makes his debut Monday night.
Wired PR News.com – Jimmy Fallon made his “Late Night” debut as the new host of the NBC program on Monday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the Saturday Night Live alum, who was named successor to Conan O’Brien nearly one year ago, began his hosting duties 10 days after O’Brien’s departure.
Fallon’s first guest included heavy hitters like Justin Timberlake and Robert De Niro. The new host is quoted in the AP report as stating in a recent interview, “I know I’m gonna get reviewed off the first show, as opposed to the first couple of months… He’s no Conan,’ or `He’s no Letterman’ — I just want that to be said, and put out there. Then viewers can relax and watch and enjoy.”
Conon O’Brien is set to take over for current “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno in June. Leno will then move on to hosting a weeknight talk-variety show in the fall.
