Chris Brown may receive plea bargain for charges related to alleged assault

Chris Brown may get probation for alleged assault per possible plea deal.

Wired PR News.com – Attorneys for Chris Brown are reportedly in negotiations for a plea deal for the superstar in connection to an alleged assault on girlfriend Rihanna in February. As reported by E! Online sources say the singer could possibly receive probation for the attack if attorneys work out a plea agreement with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

Brown allegedly attacked Rihanna following a heated argument the night before the Grammy Awards Ceremony in February. Since reports have surfaced that Rihanna has since reconciled with Brown, some speculate the case against him may be more difficult to pursue, making a plea deal a stronger possibility. A source is quoted as stating in the E! Online report, “They have a victim who’s back together with her alleged attacker, and some conflicting statements from each side… It’s not the slam dunk they hoped it would be.”

However, criminal defense attorney Daniel Perlman, who is unrelated to the case is quoted as expressing a different view stating, “Here, the publicity about [Rihanna’s] injuries was sufficient to make me doubt that the L.A. D.A. can reasonably let this go as a misdemeanor without some jail without this looking like a celebrity exception.”
