President Obama gathers over 100 experts for health care reform ideas.
WiredPRNews.com – President Barack Obama gathered with experts on Thursday to discuss health care reform. As reported by Reuters, the president opened a health care drive in an effort to find a consensus among a group of doctors, insurers, patients, lawmakers, and others on dealing with what has been described as an inefficient health care system.
Obama is quoted in the report as stating of the issue, which is now regarded as a highly critical one due to the current recession, “Health care reform is no longer just a moral imperative, it is a fiscal imperative… If we want to create jobs and rebuild our economy, then we must address the crushing cost of healthcare this year, in this administration.” The president is further quoted as stating, “I am here today because I believe that this time is different… This time, the call for reform is coming from the bottom up, from all across the spectrum — from doctors, nurses and patients; unions and businesses; hospitals, health care providers and community groups.”
Earlier this week, Obama nominated Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius for Secretary of Heath and Human Services.
