A Florida firm forced to close one of its branches due to a lack of workers.
Wired PR News – A Florida based firm is expected to close one of its branches after failing to find enough employees to fill positions. As reported by AFP, Sykes Enterprises will close its offices in North Dakota after only a small number of people applied for open positions, a surprising occurrence in a recession stricken economy.
A spokesperson for Sykes, Andrea Burnett, is quoted as stating in the report, “We’ve been working for several months there (in Minot) to find enough applicants for the work, since we have been experiencing significant growth in the US.”
As noted by AFP, Sykes Enterprises specializes in corporate customer care services, and opened the North Dakota based call center in 1996. The closing, which is set for May, will leave 200 of the company’s current employees out of work.
