Atheists Use Dallas Billboards to Spread Message
New atheist sponsored billboard signs can be seen throughout Dallas-Fort Worth.Wired PR News – Drivers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will begin to see a different kind of billboard advertisement than they may be used to this week. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, atheists and agnostics in the area have sponsored the placement of billboard signs that promote anti-religion messages throughout area highways. As quoted in the Dallas Morning News report, one sign reads, “Don’t believe in God? You are not alone.” Also contained on the billboards is information for the Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition of Reason, a blanket organization of atheism-oriented groups. The signs located over sections of I-35 will reportedly remain in place for four weeks.Terry McDonald, who belongs to the group who sponsored the billboards is quoted in the report as stating, “In this area, there’s so much religious stuff that people feel they’re alone…Christians or religious people are not our target with our billboards. But if we can let some of them know that there are a lot of us, and we’re pretty much the same as they are – caring about our families, our country, our community – that’d be kind of an extra benefit we get.”Photo Credit: Wikipedia
