American Sea Captain Rescued After Kidnapping

Captain Richard Phillips was rescued after being held hostage by pirates.
Wired PR News – The American sea captain who was taken hostage by pirates on Wednesday has been rescued. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Captain Richard Phillips was freed after Navy Seal snipers killed three pirates in a surprise attack that was approved by President Barack Obama, which brought a conclusion to a days long standoff between U.S. military and the Somali gunmen.
Phillips is quoted in the report as stating of his ordeal in response to being hailed a hero, “I’m just the byline. The real heroes are the Navy, the Seals, those who have brought me home.”
Somalia’s government is quoted as releasing the statement about the rescue, “The Somali government wanted the drama to end in a peaceful way, but any one who is involved in this latest case had the choice to use violence or other means… We see it will be a good lesson for the pirates or any one else involved in this dirty business.”
