A journalist who was laid off months ago has recently earned a Pulitzer Prize for his work.
Wired PR News – A reporter who has been laid off from his position at an Arizona newspaper recently earned a Pulitzer Prize. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Paul Giblin, a journalist who previously worked for the East Valley Tribune in Mesa, Arizona learned that he helped the news medium win a Pulitzer Prize three months after being let go.
Giblin is quoted as stating of his achievement, “It is kind of sad… I wish I was still at the Tribune. I’d have a party with them right now.” Giblin is further quoted as stating, “When I left, it didn’t make me feel any worse as a journalist… I was laid off in really good company. I still think I’m capable of doing good journalism.”
