Former KKK Leader Forced to Leave Czech Republic
David Duke was arrested on Friday and will be forced to leave the Czech Republic.
Wired PR News – Former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, was arrested in Prague on Friday. As reported by AFP, the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan founder was released following his arrest for allegedly promoting movements that advocate suppressing human rights, and subsequently forced to leave the country according to the local police.
As noted by AFP, Duke has written a book, “My Awakening,” that has been translated into Czech in which he denies the Holocaust. Doing so is a crime in the country that may warrant up to three years in jail.
The Ku Klux Klan is notoriously known for committing hate crimes against African Americans and other groups. As further noted in the AFP report, the organization amassed its largest number of members in the 1920s, reaching approximately five million. However, membership since the 1970s has declined to an estimated under 6,000.
