Swine Flu Spreads in U.S.
More cases of swine flu are reported in the United States.
Wired PR News – The number of U.S. cases of swine flu has significantly increased in recent days. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), a known five individuals have been hospitalized due to the virus, and 68 cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the United States, with a majority of them being found in New York.
Richard Besser, federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention acting director, is quoted in the report as stating in a news conference, “I fully expect we will see deaths from this infection,” however no deaths had been linked to the virus as of Tuesday.
New York City Health Commissioner Thomas Frieden is further quoted as stating of the outbreak, which is believed to have possibly originated from a group of private school students in Queens who took a Spring break trip to Mexico, “It is here and it is spreading… We do not know whether it will continue to spread.”
