Dallas Church Seeks to Catch Thief with Facebook
The church seeks to find a laptop thief using the popular social networking medium.
Wired PR News – A Dallas church is hoping the popular social networking website Facebook, will help them catch a thief. As reported by CBS 11 News, Administrative Pastor of the Richardson based Heights Baptist Church, Bill Ferrell, posted surveillance video of a person stealing a valuable laptop computer from his church on Facebook, in hopes that site users might recognize and report the thief.
A member of Heights congregation Paul Rinaldi is quoted in the report as stating, “I’ll keep my eye out for him, looking for him or his truck.”
The church has reportedly used surveillance video in the past to help find persons who’ve committed similar crimes. Ferrell is noted by CBS 11 News to express the hope that social networking sites like Facebook might assist with increasing awareness about crimes of theft.
